How Settl works

1v1 Challenges

1. Post or accept. Post an open challenge to the board, call someone out directly, or accept one that's up. Game, platform, stake, rules — all set up front.
2. Escrow locks. The moment a challenge is accepted, both stakes are held by Settl. Nobody can back out with your money.
3. Play. Add each other on your platform, set up the lobby to match the agreed rules, confirm settings, start.
4. Report. Winner reports, loser confirms (or the report auto-confirms — see the Match Rules). Auto-verified titles settle themselves.
5. Get paid. Winner takes the pot minus the settlement fee. Every match gets a receipt showing exactly where every coin went.

Ratings: rated matches move your per-game ELO. Custom matches are unrated space — practice, weird rulesets, whatever — clearly marked, no rating impact.

Solo Challenges

Bet on your own performance — "I'll drop 10 kills this game" — with sealed submissions: you and your challenger each submit results without seeing the other's. Verification codes and photo/ video evidence keep it honest. Solo is never streamed live — a public broadcast would show your opponent the target. Stakes of Ⓒ 25.00+ per side (and all real-money solo) instead require ONE sealed Settl recording from each player, made in the Settl iOS app, with your verification code shown at the start and end.

Tournaments

Bracketed events with entry fees, guaranteed prize pools, seeding, lobby chat, and an official stream when the organizer sets one. Entry rules (rating floors, linked accounts) are the organizer's call. Pool fee: 8%, with 5% of the net pool to the winning player on spectator pools.

Back Me (invest in a player)

Players can sell shares of their stake before a match or a tournament run. Backers put up part of the stake and own that fraction of the winnings; the player keeps a premium for being the one playing. Backed challenge listings require the player to stream (the backers deserve to watch). Partial fills allowed; if a listing doesn't fill, backers are refunded.

Pick a Side (spectator pools)

On eligible streamed matches, spectators stake coins on either player. All stakes pool; when the match settles, the platform takes 8%, the winning player takes 5% of what's left, and the winning side's stakers split the rest pro-rata. The crowd sets the odds, never Settl — the live multiplier is just arithmetic on the two pots. Pools lock when play begins, so nobody bets with information you didn't have. Refunds if the match voids, pushes, or one side of the pool is empty.

Eligibility: streamed match, both players opted in, both players Pool Ready (10+ rated matches in that game).

Streaming

Link Twitch or Kick, stream your matches, and good things happen: your settlement fee drops 2%, your match can carry a Pick a Side pool, spectators can watch live on your match page, and your stream is your evidence in any dispute.
