Settl Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account information: email address, display name, date of birth (used solely to enforce our 18+ requirement), and a password we store only in hashed form.
• Gameplay records: challenges, match results, tournament entries, skill ratings, coin balances and transactions, dispute records and any evidence you submit (such as links to screenshots or video).
• Gamertags and linked accounts: gaming handles you provide, and if you link a platform account (such as Epic Games or Steam), the account identifier and display name that platform returns. We never receive your passwords for those platforms.
• Technical data: IP addresses, browser and device information, and server logs collected automatically for security and operations.
• Cookies: we use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.

How we use information

To operate the platform (matching, escrow of virtual coins, settlement, leaderboards); to enforce our rules and the integrity of competition (including fraud, collusion, and multiple-account detection); to send transactional emails such as verification and match notifications; to respond to support requests; and to comply with legal obligations.

What other users see

Your display name, skill ratings, match record, and competition history are visible to other users on your public profile page. Your gamertags are visible on your public profile by default too, so an opponent can verify you're real before playing you for stakes — you can turn this off in Settings, in which case they go back to being shared only with the opponent you are matched with, same as before. Verified-platform badges (a checkmark showing you linked a real Steam or Epic account) are always visible regardless of that setting; only the handle itself is affected. Mutual friends (Friends, in the app) can always see your gamertags too, regardless of that setting. Friends, and whoever you're currently matched against, can also see when you're online or recently active, on by default — you can turn this off in Settings, which hides your presence from everyone entirely; this signal is only ever shown to a mutual friend or a current match opponent, never anyone else. Your email address, phone number, and date of birth are never shown to other users.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show ads. We share data only with service providers who help us operate (such as email delivery, hosting, and infrastructure providers), under agreements limiting their use of it, and where required by law.

Retention and the beta period

We retain account and gameplay records while your account is active. Financial-style records of coin transactions are retained for integrity and audit purposes. During beta, we may reset or clear portions of platform data; we will make reasonable efforts to notify active users first.

Your choices

You may update your display name and gamertags, unlink platform accounts, and manage notification preferences in Settings. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us: account deletion anonymizes your identity — your display name, email, phone, date of birth, avatar, and linked gamertags are removed or replaced — while transaction records are retained as required for platform integrity. We do not perform a literal deletion of match, dispute, or ledger history, since that history is shared with every opponent you've played and underlies the platform's own accounting.

Age requirement

Settl is for users 18 and older, in every mode including free play. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we will delete the account.

Changes

We will post any updates to this policy on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
