Settl Terms of Service

Welcome to Settl (settl.gg). By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these Terms. Settl is currently in beta.
1. What Settl is
Settl is a platform for skill-based head-to-head video game competition. Players post and accept challenges, compete in matches they personally play, and the platform records results. Settl is currently in free-play mode: all competition uses virtual coins.
2. Coins have no value
Coins are a virtual unit used for play. They have no monetary value, cannot be purchased, sold, transferred outside the platform, or redeemed for money or anything of value. Coin balances may be adjusted or reset during the beta. Nothing on Settl in free-play mode constitutes gambling or wagering of money.
3. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to use Settl, in every mode. You may create only one account, and the information you provide must be accurate.
4. Fair play
You agree not to: misreport match results; collude with opponents or manipulate matches; use multiple accounts or play on another person's account; cheat in games or use unauthorized automation; harass other users; or submit falsified evidence. We may limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these rules, and may adjust or void affected results and coin balances.
5. Matches, results, and disputes
Both players report results. If reports agree, the match settles automatically. If they conflict, the match enters our dispute process: players may submit evidence, and a moderator's ruling is final. Deliberately false reporting may result in forfeiture and account penalties. Coin amounts moved into escrow for a match are released according to the outcome under these rules.
6. Linked platform accounts
You may link third-party gaming accounts (such as Epic Games or Steam) to verify your identity on those platforms. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms. We may remove verification status where we believe it is inaccurate.
7. Your content
You retain rights to content you submit (such as evidence). You grant us a license to use it to operate the platform, including displaying it to match participants and moderators and retaining it in dispute records.
8. The platform is provided "as is"
Settl is in beta. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or preservation of data during the beta. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Settl is provided without warranties of any kind, and our total liability arising from your use of the platform is limited to $100.
9. Termination
You may stop using Settl at any time and may request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms or to protect the platform and its users.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms during the beta. We will post updates here and update the date above; material changes will be highlighted on the site. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
